Rhomboid Major
Musculus rhomboideus major
The rhomboid major lies deep to the trapezius and retracts the scapula toward the spine while assisting elevation and downward rotation. It is heavily recruited in rows and scapular retraction work, and strong rhomboids counteract rounded-shoulder posture by holding the shoulder blades back and down.
