The straight-arm pulldown is a cable lat-isolation exercise in which a high pulley is driven from overhead down to the thighs while the arms stay nearly straight. Because the elbows barely bend, the lats produce shoulder extension with minimal biceps involvement, building a strong mind-muscle connection and lat detail. Hinge slightly at the hips, keep a soft elbow, and sweep the bar down in an arc while squeezing the lats.
