Infraspinatus
Musculus infraspinatus
The infraspinatus is the primary external rotator of the shoulder and a key posterior stabilizer of the rotator cuff. It resists the internal-rotation pull of pressing movements, so strengthening it (band/cable external rotations, face pulls) corrects muscular imbalance and protects against impingement. It is the second most commonly injured cuff muscle after the supraspinatus.
