Extensor Carpi Radialis Longus
Musculus extensor carpi radialis longus
Extensor carpi radialis longus extends the wrist and tilts the hand toward the thumb, and helps stabilize the wrist in extension during gripping so the finger flexors can generate maximal force. It is built directly by reverse wrist curls and worked isometrically in nearly all heavy grip and pulling work. Chronic overload of the common extensor origin is associated with lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow).
