Iliacus
Musculus iliacus
The iliacus is a flat, triangular muscle filling the iliac fossa that fuses with the psoas major to form the iliopsoas, the most important flexor of the hip. It contributes the iliac (pelvic) portion of hip-flexion power for sprinting, kicking, and knee drive. Because it shares the iliopsoas tendon, it is trained and stretched together with the psoas.
