Bodyweight Calisthenics

The sit-up is a full-range trunk-flexion exercise that lifts the entire torso off the floor to a seated position, training the rectus abdominis along with the hip flexors. Compared to the crunch it covers a longer range and recruits more muscles, including the iliopsoas. Bend the knees, curl up sequentially through the spine, and lower with control to keep tension off the lower back.
