Bodyweight Calisthenics

The lying leg raise targets the lower rectus abdominis and hip flexors by raising straight or slightly bent legs from the floor while the back stays grounded. Keeping the lower back pressed down protects the lumbar spine and forces the abs to control the descent. Raise the legs to vertical, lower slowly without arching the back, and stop short of the floor to keep constant tension on the abs.
