Pectineus
Musculus pectineus
The pectineus is the most anterior adductor, bridging the medial and anterior thigh compartments and acting as both a hip flexor and adductor. Its dual femoral/obturator innervation reflects this transitional role between the flexor and adductor groups. It assists in stabilizing the pelvis during the swing phase of sprinting and contributes to flexion-adduction patterns in kicking and climbing movements.
