The chest fly is an isolation movement that trains the pectoralis major through horizontal adduction with the elbows held in a fixed, slightly bent position. Lying on a bench, lower the dumbbells out to the sides in a wide arc until you feel a deep chest stretch, then squeeze them back together over the chest. It emphasizes the stretched portion of the chest and is best done with moderate loads and strict form.
