Conjoint Tendon of the Triceps Coxae

Tendo musculi tricipitis coxae

The conjoint tendon of the triceps coxae is the fused tendon by which the obturator internus and the superior and inferior gemelli insert together on the medial greater trochanter. This shared attachment lets the three deep rotators act as a unit to externally rotate and stabilize the hip. It is central to the deep-rotator ‘cuff’ that centers the femoral head during loaded single-leg movement.
