The power clean and jerk catches both the clean and the jerk in a partial squat rather than a deep receiving position, demanding more bar speed but less mobility. It is a useful variant for athletes who prioritize explosive output over maximal loads. Power clean the bar to the rack, then dip and drive to push-jerk or power-jerk it overhead, locking the elbows with the bar over the midline.
