Bodyweight Calisthenics
The crunch is a short-range spinal-flexion movement that isolates the rectus abdominis by curling the shoulders toward the pelvis while the lower back stays on the floor. Keeping the lumbar spine down minimizes hip-flexor involvement, making it a cleaner ab isolation than the full sit-up. Exhale and round the upper back off the floor, pause at the top squeeze, and lower under control without yanking on the neck.
