The ab wheel rollout is a powerful anti-extension exercise in which the body extends as the wheel rolls forward, forcing the rectus abdominis and deep core to resist the lower back arching. The farther you roll, the greater the demand to keep the spine neutral. Start from the knees, keep the arms straight and abs braced, roll out only as far as you can control, then pull the wheel back without letting the hips sag.
