Tibialis Anterior Tendon

The tibialis anterior tendon runs down the front of the ankle and inserts on the medial cuneiform and first metatarsal base, delivering dorsiflexion and inversion. It is visible and palpable on the medial dorsum of the foot during active dorsiflexion. Its integrity is essential for foot clearance in gait and for controlled landing.
