Supraspinatus Tendon

The supraspinatus tendon runs laterally beneath the acromion and over the humeral head to insert on the superior facet of the greater tubercle. It is the most frequently impinged and torn rotator cuff tendon, making it the central structure in shoulder overuse injuries from overhead lifting.
