Pes anserinus

The pes anserinus (“goose’s foot”) is the conjoined tendon of the sartorius, gracilis, and semitendinosus on the anteromedial proximal tibia, named for its three-pronged appearance. It is a key dynamic stabilizer against valgus and external rotation forces at the knee, and the overlying bursa is a frequent source of medial knee pain (pes anserine bursitis) in runners and lifters.
