Palmaris Longus Tendon

The palmaris longus tendon is the most superficial tendon at the front of the wrist and, when present, the most prominent on wrist flexion against resistance. Absent in 10-15% of people, it is a favored donor for tendon grafts and reconstructions because its loss causes negligible functional deficit. It blends distally into the palmar aponeurosis.
