The sissy squat leans the torso back while bending the knees forward and rising onto the toes, placing the quadriceps under a deep stretch and isolating them from the glutes and hamstrings. The dual-joint lengthening of the rectus femoris makes it a potent quad hypertrophy stimulus that conventional squats cannot replicate. Hold a support for balance, lower under control, and keep the hips, knees, and shoulders in a straight line.
