The rack pull is a partial deadlift starting with the bar elevated on safety pins or blocks, usually around knee height. The shortened range lets you overload the lockout and emphasizes the upper back, traps, glutes, and spinal erectors. Keep the lats tight and finish with a strong hip extension rather than leaning back.
