Pressing from the floor limits the range of motion so the upper arms rest at the bottom, removing the stretched chest position and emphasizing triceps and lockout strength. Pause briefly with the triceps on the floor before pressing back up to avoid bouncing. It is a popular accessory for building bench-press lockout power and sparing the shoulders.
