Back Extension

The back extension, performed on a Roman chair or 45-degree bench, strengthens the spinal erectors along with the glutes and hamstrings via spinal and hip extension. Anchor the legs, fold at the hips, then raise the torso until the body forms a straight line. Avoid hyperextending past neutral, and add a plate or load for progression.
