Subscapularis Tendon

The subscapularis tendon is the only rotator cuff tendon attaching to the lesser tubercle, on the anterior aspect of the joint. It is the primary restraint against anterior instability of the humeral head and helps form the medial wall of the bicipital groove that guides the long head of the biceps tendon.
