Sternocleidomastoid Tendon
Tendo musculi sternocleidomastoidei

The tendinous attachment by which the sternocleidomastoid grips the mastoid process and superior nuchal line. It transmits the force of neck flexion and rotation and is the typical site of strain in whiplash and overzealous direct neck training.
