Sacrotuberous Ligament
Ligamentum sacrotuberale

The sacrotuberous ligament runs from the sacrum and coccyx to the ischial tuberosity and is a key stabilizer of the sacroiliac joint, resisting forward tilting (nutation) of the sacrum under load. The gluteus maximus partly originates from it and the biceps femoris often blends with it, making it a force-transmission link in the posterior chain. Its integrity matters for safe heavy hinging and pelvic stability.
