Rectus Sheath
Vagina musculi recti abdominis

The rectus sheath is the fibrous compartment that encloses the rectus abdominis and pyramidalis, built from the aponeuroses of the external oblique, internal oblique, and transversus abdominis. It transmits force from the lateral abdominal muscles to the midline and helps the abdominal wall act as a unified pressure container. Its integrity matters for efficient bracing and intra-abdominal pressure during lifting.
