Tendo musculi pectoralis majoris

Pectoralis Major Tendon

A flat, bilaminar tendon that carries the converging fibers of the pectoralis major to the lateral lip of the bicipital groove of the humerus, transmitting the full force of chest adduction and internal rotation. It is a classic injury site in strength athletes, rupturing under heavy eccentric load such as the bottom of a maximal bench press; complete tears typically require surgical repair.
