Distal Biceps Femoris Tendon
Tendo distalis musculi bicipitis femoris
The distal biceps femoris tendon is the prominent cord palpable on the posterolateral knee, inserting onto the fibular head and helping stabilize the posterolateral corner of the knee. It is the primary external rotator of the flexed knee. This tendon is a frequent site of injury during high-speed running and is involved in posterolateral knee instability.
