Standing Barbell Calf Raise
Barbell Calf Raise · Standing Calf Raise with Barbell

The standing barbell calf raise loads plantar flexion with a barbell racked across the upper back while standing on a block so the heels can drop below the toes. The straight-knee position stretches the gastrocnemius, making this a strong driver of calf hypertrophy. Keep the back tall, rise as high as possible onto the toes, and lower slowly into a full stretch without bouncing.
